Diesel Technician Lead Job Post

  1. Diesel Technician Lead to support companies need to troubleshoot and repair small marine diesel engines from 35hp to 300hp installed aboard rig/vessels Lifeboats, Tenders and FRC.
    1. Must have extensive diesel engine trouble shooting and repair experience
    2. Desired 10 years plus experience in Diesel engines.
    3. Desired to have rebuilt at least 100 diesel engines.
    4. This position is normally based in our headquarters but occasional travel will be required
  2. Diesel Technician Lead to support/assist SE in the certification and repair of Lifeboats, davits, Accommodation ladder and Gangways in accordance to IMO codes and Fassmer standards.
    1. Must be an energetic person with good mechanical skills.
    2. Desired skill sets- mechanical aptitude, familiar with vessel/rig operations, team player, high manual dexterity, personable, problem solver, willing to travel, reliable and have the ability to follow instructions.
    3. This position some travel around the globe.
    4. Due to the shipping nature of our customer’s employee are expected to work on holidays according to the posted schedule.
    5. Associates Degree or equivalent desired
    6. Must be able to work a 12 hr. day and be capable of carrying 50 lbs. of tools up 120 steps. Must be able to fit and work in the confined space of a life boat.
    7. Required to pass a physical and dug test
    8. Fassmer is a drug free work place with random drug testing.
  3. Duties include but are not limited to
    1. Working Safe in accordance with ISO 9001 and all safety rules. Must always wear proper PPE accordingly.
    2. Job preparation
      1. Preparing all tools, parts, equipment, provisions, PPE, clothing, paperwork, customer information, destination, logistics, communication with agent and anything else that may be required before departing for job.
    3. Perform job duties to Fassmer Service Americas high quality standard. Duties include engine repair on life saving equipment. The safe and proper operation of our equipment is paramount
    4. Conduct themselves in polite professional manor at all times.
      1. Any negative correspondence back from customers will be addressed and could result in termination of employment
    5. Report any non-conformances to the Service Manager immediately
    6. Produce a condition report on board the vessel or rig to give to the onboard personal either in paper or electronically before departing the vessel. Acceptations must be explained.
    7. If a problem arise that cannot be solved onboard must call Service Manager for office support
    8. Is responsible to be on time for scheduled flights or scheduled travel and job site
    9. Must have clean hygiene as work take place in close quarters with co workers.
    10. Fassmer Diesel Technician Lead is a fact finder and a solution provider, blaming others for problems is not accepted.
  4. Diesel Technician Lead must work in the spirit of Fassmer Service America and present him/her self in this manner to customers and co workers.
